31.5x31.5 in ~ Painting, Acrylic
Moroccan Roches Noires de Casablanca, This canvas is an acrylic, with a paper mounted on the surface. It refers to the Roches Noire district in Casablanca, Morocco. Casablanca (الدار البيضاء) is the economic capital of Morocco. A Moroccan friend often spoke to me about this big city, posed on the hills by the sea. With more than 3.5 million inhabitants, Medhi described to me in his stories, the incredible vigor of this Moroccan city. The world in action in the streets and neighborhoods, the alarms of cars stuck in traffic jams. For Medhi that was Casablanca: life that swarms and is agitated. With this canvas, I wanted to translate the emotions of my friend Medhi into shapes and colors. The Roches Noires neighborhood was one of the most upscale neighborhoods in the past. It is still one of the most beautiful neighborhoods, located in the center of Casablanca. DESAG
